Meshing

Meshing is the most critical component of any numerical study and Pacific ESI sells, supports and uses internally a number of solutions ranging from fully automated through to 100% manual.

Starting with automated meshing, the combination of blockMesh and snappyHexMesh are available for command line power users of OpenFOAM. Alternatively, if you prefer a graphical user interface to these incredibly powerful tools, then Visual CFD is for you.

Stepping up a level from blockMesh and snappyHexMesh, CFD-VisCART is a very powerful adaptive cartesian mesher with advanced CAD clean up to manage holes, tears and other discontinuities. CFD-VisCART is a component of the CFD-ACE+.

Alternatively, if you wish to use an incredibly powerful structured mesher then the CFD-GEOM component of the CFD-ACE+ suite is your go to tool.

All the meshing tools within the CFD-ACE+ suite export natively to DTF format but Pacific ESI has written custom translators to migrate DTF based meshes to other solution codes such as OpenFOAM or SU2.

ESI's flagship mesher is included within the Visual Environment group of packages.
