Seasons Greetings From Pacific ESI

We are extending a huge thanks to all the clients, collaborators and potential future customers that we’ve been involved with over the course of the year. We've had an interesting year and we sincerely hope that you have too. May 2019 be bigger and better for us all.

As a light-hearted token from us, we produced a beautiful visual of streamlines around Santa as he travels at Mach 2.5. The fluid flow was solved using CFD-FASTRAN and visualised in CFD-VIEW via our in-house high-performance computing cluster. This was created by one of our summer interns, Jonathan Zhu from UNSW. He visualised the flow using stream tubes and there are a number of shock-body interactions as well as wake recirculation regions behind the bluff bodies.

All in all, not too bad of a speed for a pair of reindeer, an elderly gentleman and a wooden sleigh 😉.
